Cost of Membership

Membership to HUNTUG is free and members who register on the website have access to a number of resources, such as email meeting reminders, technical content and special user group offers etc.

How often do we meet?

HUNTUG holds two seperate meetings a month, one on topics of interest to the Windows IT infrastructure support community and another geared to .NET developers. Meetings are free, and the presenters are usually well known experts in the technologies presented. .Net developers group meets every 2nd Tuesday, and the Windows group meets every 3rd Monday of the month. In addition to regular meetings there are special events (e.g. Microsoft MSDN events and tours etc) that are held from time to time.

 About Us Minimize

HUNTUG is a non-profit, no-dues technical organization located in North Alabama that is dedicated to the promotion, education and adoption of Microsoft Windows and .NET Technologies and provide an environment for professionals to network and freely exchange ideas and information. HUNTUG is a member of INETA (International .NET Association). HUNTUG is run by unpaid volunteers who are members of the local community. HUNTUG relies on its sponsors for meeting sponsorship.

Goals

  • The goal of HUNTUG is to promote the knowledge of new Windows technologies and to a build a community of developers, administrators and other infrastructure support technicians here in the Tennessee Valley (northern  Alabama).
  • Promote continuous growth in new technology knowledge among users, and make that knowledge available to prospective users.
  • Promote the best and most efficient ways to use new technologies and have fun doing it.
  • Present information and form study groups that will increase awareness locally of cutting edge technologies and internet technologies to raise the group's knowledge as a whole and to bring more cutting-edge presentations and tours to this region.
  • Provide presentations that leverage synergy across all technology platforms with special focus on cross-platform integration.
  • Disseminate reviews and news locally, about tools and software, both Microsoft and third-party (including beta programs), with a special interest in locally developed products.
  • Promote the interests of local Windows users by providing visibility between the Windows community and the diversity of Windows-related specialties in this area.
  • Take time at the end of each meeting to exchange Windows-related ideas and problems, with the goal of documenting solutions to common problems.
